Me voilà dans l’antre de l’habitation Damoiseau tenue d’une main de maître par Hervé Damoiseau, personnage haut en couleur et célèbre dans le monde du rhum agricole.
J’entre alors dans son bureau, avec une légère appréhension qui se dissipa rapidement dès que je compris que c’était un homme plein d’humour, sympathique qui le rendait à mes yeux bien plus abordable que l’idée que je m’en étais faite.

Tout a commencé avec le grand père d’Hervé Damoiseau, Roger, qui acheta le domaine Bellevue Hurel en 1942. Un jour, un de ses amis, le Notaire Thionville, lui apprit qu’une distillerie était à vendre, mais à cette époque, en pleine guerre, Roger n’avait pas d’argent, son ami lui proposa alors de le financer et émit une option d’achat à son nom. Quelques jours plus tard, une personne lui proposa de lui racheter l’option deux fois son prix, ce qui le conforta sûrement dans sa décision… La Saga Damoiseau était née!
